What happens to your speech
Audio is streamed, not recorded
Your selected microphone is sent from your browser to OpenAI through a short-lived Realtime connection for transcription. Safah does not store raw audio in its database, browser storage, or logs. Zoom remains separate and may use the same physical microphone.
Transcripts follow the meeting setting
For an ephemeral meeting, bilingual utterances exist temporarily so both browsers can synchronize and reconnect. They are permanently deleted when the meeting ends. For a saved meeting, the bilingual transcript remains available to the two authorized participants until the creator deletes it.
External processing
OpenAI processes microphone audio for transcription and finalized text for translation. Resend delivers sign-in and invitation emails, Cloudflare Turnstile may verify public forms, and Neon stores application records. Vendor retention depends on the account configuration and applicable vendor terms; this application does not claim external zero retention by default.
Logs avoid conversation content
Operational logs include event IDs, meeting IDs, latency, failures, reconnects, duration, and counts. Source text, translations, raw provider payloads, credentials, and audio are redacted by default.
